But when all those people would go on about the mountains or the ocean or the lake or the forests to be with nature, I wonder what kind of person I must be to identify with desert. (At first I didn't even recognize it as "drawn to the desert". I figured I was drawn to nothing because I wasn't drawn to mountains or oceans or lakes or forests or any of the normal-people places. It was only later that the obvious slapped me in the face. For the longest time, I'd never even heard of *anyone* drawn to desert.)
